Refinery Upgrade Module Yard (Edmonton)
Project Dates: September through to March
Duration: 18 months
Cranes: Terex RT1120 120ton Rough Terrain, Tadano GR800 80ton Rough Terrain, Tadano T800 80ton Rough Terrain, Tadano TR665 65ton Rough Terrain, Tadano TR300 30ton Rough Terrain
Loads: 15,000lb pipe sections and modules.
Difficulties: This yard was constricted, difficult to navigate and was populated with a large number of workers. The Highest standards of safety were adhered to with constant Field Level Hazard Assessment. All equipment was required to meet the customer’s stringent service and maintenance standards. A full-time mechanic was put to work on this site.
Conclusion: This project was won on a foundation of Safety and Accountability. DLB Operators are trained to the highest standards and we encourage a mentoring process that includes operators learning from each other. Our cranes are kept to the highest levels of mechanical service and safety – sometimes to better standards than the manufacturer’s recommendations. The DLB Policy regarding OH&S is to adhere to the highest recommended standards available.
